Kuba Czekaj was born in 1984 in Wroclaw. Graduated from film directing at the Krzysztof Kieslowski Faculty of Radio and Television of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Author of several short films which have won prizes at festivals in Poland and abroad: (2007) Beyond the Horizon; (2006) A Piece of Heaven; (2006) All About My Family; (2005) Mum; (2005) Race (short film Start).
In April 2010 he became a laureate of prestigious Polish Radio Award for Young Talents.
Kuba Czekaj has won the Young Cinema Competition at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia twice. In 2009 he won Grand Prix for the film "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark Room" and again in 2010 for the film "Twist&Blood".
